Customer Review: Not a good Point and Shoot!

I was super excited to get this camera because I had done so much research and comparrison shopping before hand...I even tried it at the local Best Buy and it seemed at the time to be a great buy, and to top it off, I saved over $100 by purchasing it on Amazon.com! However, I have now tested it in several situations/environments with the exception of underwater, and I'm seriously disappointed in the functionality of the camera as well as the quality of the pictures that are coming out. If you want a great camera that captures action, this is not the camera for you. I hate to see what it looks like when taking underwater photos, especially when shooting objects in motion. The 'scene' settings never really help, and the only thing I've really found it useful for is just regular pictures with that drown-out look because the flash is so bright that you can't see anything in the background and the faces are almost so reflective it's hard to make out the features. I originally had my sights set on the Panasonic Lumix TS1 or TS2, and decided against it because I could not find any store that had one I could test first. But I'm starting to think that I made the wrong choice. I have a Kodak EasyShare 6.2 megapixel camera that takes MUCH better pictures than this thing. The only great point about it that I actually do like, is HD Video. We have an HDTV and purchased the HDMI cable, and the videos look great on our TV. There are so many more disappointing things about this camera, that it's almost not worth typing.
The Panorama seems like a cool feature but really not worth the irritating efforts, the 'scenes' function- not helpful at all, the 'MAGIC' effects are crap (there's really only 4, so not much to choose from) and like I mentioned before, capturing action is useless because everything comes out blurred. The shutter release is super slow, and it takes FOREVER for the viewfinder(LCD screen) to come back on after taking a picture! So all in all, I really do not think I made the best choice for my needs when purchasing this camera. Next time I'll stick with Kodak or Canon (tried and true!)!!!
