Customer Review: Stay away from this horrible software

I bought this software to replace the Master disc that came with my Olympus e300. When I opened the box for the camera, that disc was warped and unreadable. I went to the Olympus site to see if I could download the software anywhere and no dice. You could "see your local dealer" to get it; meaning you would have to buy it again. So I ended up here.
I received the software this morning and started the install as the instructions told me. When the computer (Mac PB 17 G4) rebooted, all of my dock items had been replaced with the default items from a fresh OSX install and the dock had been moved to it's original location and settings. STRIKE 1
I plugged my camera in and clicked on the "browse photos" button to go into the real program (which makes no sense) in order to download the firmware updates for may camera. This is another "feature" that Olympus includes: you can't download and install firmware upgrades from their site. You have to use this pathetic software instead. STRIKE 2.
The firmware upgrades worked!!!!! That's the only positive thing I can say.
I then attempted to update the software itself - hahahaha. It always downloads something but it saves it to a different harddrive everytime - I think. I can hear the other two drives running but I never can tell where the files go because - TA DA - the software crashes every time you attempt to update it. STRIKE 3.
If you really can't live without the firmware updates I guess you have to suffer through this mess. I know that I've had it and will not being another Oly.
